Career

Royal Naval officer 1979 – 1993. Trained and qualified as barrister whilst serving in the Navy. Joined South Western Chambers, Taunton in 1993. Head of Chambers of Octagon Chambers.

Alan Large aims to provide advocacy and legal advice of a high quality, combined with efficient case administration and a very high level of client care.

Areas of Practice

Alan Large practises in all types of crime at all levels. He has an extensive practice as a defence advocate in Crown Courts throughout the South West, particularly in Taunton, Bristol and Exeter, and is a CPS Grade 4 prosecutor.

With significant experience in all aspects of criminal law, Alan Large is happy to maintain his very varied practice.  He also has experience in case management of lengthy trials including SFO cases, and welcomes junior briefs with QC leading. He has a good deal of court martial experience. Computer literate.
